The Federal Interagency Forum on Child and Family Statistics (the Forum) published its full report, America's Children: Key National Indicators of Well-Being, 2021 on September 22, 2021. The Forum encourages cooperation and collaboration among 23 Federal agencies and promotes communications among and between statistical communities of data producers, researchers, policymakers, and the public to improve data quality and utility. The 2021 report highlights all 41 key national indicators across a range of domains: family and social environment, economic circumstances, health care, physical environment and safety, behavior, education, and health.
In April 2021, Forum members Traci Cook (NCHS), Regina Bures (NICHD) and Anthony Nerino (OMB) presented an overview of Forum history and current activities during the Professional Development session of the biennial Society for Research in Child Development conference.
Event attendees learned about the Forum's collaborative process for data collection and reporting, including the production of the annual flagship report "America Children: Key National Indicators of Well-being." Panelists also promoted Forum resources available for researchers, like government reports, datasets, and other opportunities, to inform and support their own studies of child development.
